The document aims to explain the importance of timing for back-up heating in an easy-to-understand format, helping solar thermal customers to get the highest energy yield from their solar heating panels.

The recent Energy Saving Trust trial (here) found that poor timing of back-up heating was one of the major contributors to those households that achieved the lowest solar energy savings.

Solar Handbook

The STA Solar Handbook provides an insight into current changes taking place within the solar industry and in particular, the Association member’s developments and an overview of our Working Groups. This, second edition, covers the first phase of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and the fast-track review of the Feed-in Tariffs (FiTs), both of which came into force on 1st August 2011.
